Coats

I like quotes…especially the ones that have a bit of humour in it. Scientists…Mathematicians…ah!! they have given this mortal world immortal coats. They have this tendency of making things look extremely simple and it shows in the way they come up with such extraordinary coats. Einstein…ofcourse heads the list. To give a taste of his humour, here are a few of my favourites

“God doesn’t care about your mathematical difficulties. He integrates empiracally”

“I know not with what WW III will be fought, but WW IV will be fought with sticks and stones”

“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity, and I am not sure about the universe”

But what fascinates me is how completely different people of completely different generations could sound so similar to one another even when they say completely different statements. Sample this

“If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants”- Newton (1642-1727)

“The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources”- Einstein (1879-1955)

Being humble and giving credit where it is due probably is the first step to greatness. Or is it the case that people become humble after attaining the greatness???

I like quotes…they inspire me…so much so that I try to follow them in my life…don’t trust me???? have a look at the coat below !!!

“I don’t give a damn for a man that can only spell a word one way”- Mark Twain

oh btw!!! did i mention that I like quotes that make my weEkneses look not-so-bad-afterall???

PS: you guys can post (hang) your favourite quotes(coats) here if you like :)

  1. Where there is will, there is property….

  2. And where there is property, there is no will…..

  3. I would like to hang another coat. I borrowed these coats from Einstein too. The icon I worship! I take a bow..

“We should take care not to make the intellect our god; it has, of course, powerful muscles, but no personality”.

“Reading, after a certain age, diverts the mind too much from its creative pursuits. Any man who reads too much and uses his own brain too little falls into lazy habits of thinking”.

“Gravitation cannot be held responsible for people falling in love. How on earth can you explain in terms of chemistry and physics so important a biological phenomenon as first love? Put your hand on a stove for a minute and it seems like an hour. Sit with that special girl for an hour and it seems like a minute. That’s relativity”.

“Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex… It takes a touch of genius – and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction”.
