Movies…Films…Pictures…whatever!!!
Its very rare that a personal blog doesn’t contain a post on movies. And I definitely am not one of the rare breeds. I just HATE romantic films. Yashraj…Johar…Kunal Kohli…and clan churn out incredibly unseeable movies. I just cannot even imagine to sit through a film which bares their stamp. For a long time I avoided watching the movie Fanaa. The very first day I had heard the spoiler of the movie, I had known that it would be a brainless picture. But very recently I dared to give it a try…and boy…I was dumbstruck!!! That has to be Aamir’s worst movie ever. And I always knew Kajol-Aamir would look stupid together. Romantic angle to a movie on terrorism!!! or was it a terrorism angle to a movie on romance!!! what were they thinking????
Talking of pairs…naaa…not the romantic pairs…I think following are the best pairs in movies…in no particular order…

- Tom Hanks – Speilberg
- Johny Depp – Tim Burton
- Ranvir Shorey – Vinay Pathak

Tol’ ya…no romantic movies for me…nope…no way…
A special mention of one other movie…all I can say is…I am just glad that it was made…its called “Apocalypto”…It is a Mel Gibson directed movie…and I think it tops my list of favourites just for the way the story of mankind has been told…it beautifully summarises the very nature of humans.
Aamir, Tom Hanks, Johny Depp, Paresh Rawal, Pankaj Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan are the best actors in my opinion…the reason is quite simple…I cannot imagine anybody else playing the parts in their movies…Fanaa ofcourse is one of its kind
Oh btw…I just finished watching Shawshank Redemption yet again…

Hmmm… I think Tom Hanks – Robert Zemeckis is one pair that deserve a mention (Forest Gump, Cast Away and Polar Express)…

pulp fiction, the prestige, woody allen’s cinema, not to forget requiem for a dream, memento, also deserve amention.. but try them if you haven’t already!
Hey Aparna! thanks for those suggestions…Memento definitely deserved to be on that list…I was really tempted to squeeze that in. Its a superb film…loved it thoroughly. Though I cannot say the same about Pulp Fiction. I did like all that “non-linear” way of story telling…but errr…it din’t blow me off so to say…though I am aware of the fact that it is considered a cult classic now. As my brother would say…it didn’t have the spark-plug for me
. The others…I frankly haven’t seen them.
